Going for a run with The Troll Brain

For some weird reason, I have both a good and a bad sense of orientation. As I have a very bad short-term memory, I fail to memorise new routes quickly. For example, when I go for a walk in a new area, it’s very difficult for me to remember routes, especially when walking. However, when I drive and get some time to get used to a new city, I will know my way around quite quickly. Nevertheless, knowing this, my Troll Brain still tries to trick me into not using my mobile phone for navigation when I already start to feel lost, confidently convincing me that it has it all under control. It will even try to make me feel as though something looked familiar going “Hey, this looks familiar, we must be on the right track then”. Oh well..
